Babeorella Review

Review doublesix By Andrew Nesvadba, 4 years, 5 months ago
Babeorella Review

Babeorella by doublesix knows its audience and much like Daisy Mae of the Alien Buffet, she's a spicy heroine that's not afraid to put her body on the line. Jane Fonda references aside, Babeorella is an endless action brawler that tries hard to keep your attention in almost any way possible. Movement is controlled by an analogue stick while attacks are grouped in to three buttons for variety. Two buttons are used for light and heavy attacks, with three variations available to each dep…

Apple's Sinister Development

A physical control pad for Apple's iDevices would be a good idea, but it's not necessarily a new one. Craig Rothwell, inventor of the iControlPad is proud of his product and after a patent by Apple with the same concept was recently revealed, he immediately showed signs of being upset. PatentlyApple recently revealed the patent which was filed almost six months after the iControlPad first made its debut. Craig Rothwell's development blog quickly posted a response titled 'An extremely sinister development' last Friday. "We were very very surprised to see that apple have allegedly filed a patent for our original iControlPad design some 6 months after we revealed it," says Rothwell, "This w…

ToonWarz Review

ToonWarz Review

FPS' on the iphone can be problomatic. No matter how well they're made, a bad control scheme can be a death sentence. That's kind of Toonwarz in a nutshell. Either playing through the single player campaign or the multiplayer, your enjoyment of this title depends on whether or not you can come to grips with the controls. There are two schemes available. Both technically use twin control sticks, it's just the default scheme hides the look stick and adds the shoot and jump button around…

Hands On Preview - 'Tiptop: the last march'

I think I've managed to play Lemmings on just about every conceivable mainstream platform available, starting with my copy on the Amiga and working through various iterations on the PC, Genesis, Game Boy, Mobile Phones and on and on and on. I honestly think it's a gaming staple that everyone should try in some shape or form. Why? Well I honestly think there's nothing quite like knowing you have to help a bunch of the poor defenseless creatures left in your charge only to know you'll have to sacrifice at least some to ensure your victory. Sure they're just pixels, but they're so helpless... and you're so powerful! Clearly it's your fault they didn't survive! 'Tiptop: the last march' is a…

Vampire Origins RELOADED Review

Review Chillingo Ltd By Andrew Nesvadba, 4 years, 5 months ago
Vampire Origins RELOADED Review

Chillingo's latest action game is an interesting experiment in controls for the action genre. Vampire Origins takes classic Resident Evil style gameplay and twists it with comic-book inspired storytelling producing a unique blend of dark influences. But lets get things clear, we're not talking about sparkly vampires here - no, these are the Nosferatu-inspired horde of undead and assorted baddies. A basic analogue and touch-to-fire controls form the basic controls for movement, but for…
