Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the regional nature reserve of the mires of Frasne.
I would like you to discover Frasne's peat bogs. It's a wonderful place. In 1985, this site of 160 hectares became a nature reserve, preserved by the town councils of Frasne and La Rivière Drugeon.
Let's start the tour now. Together we'll try to learn more about the peat bogs. We'll explain its origin, its formation and its characteristics. You'll be able to see the mire in different stages of its evolution: the active peatland or bog, the senescent raised bogs and the wooded bog.
