NetEase's fun, anime-inspired Super Mecha Champions has added a new character as part of its latest update.
Mila is voiced by Yui Makino of Gundam Build Fighters Try and Tsubasa Chronicle fame. Sure, she might not appear particularly threatening, but she packs a devastating punch with her heavy armour mecha by her side.
The Christmas update turns the SMC battlefield into a winter wonderland. The Caramel and Doomlight are now looking all festive, and you can also expect to see new skins for Mira and Joanna.
The biggest addition here might be the new Training Ground mode. This lets you get some pre-battle training in using any of the mechas, guns, or weapons you want. It gives you a chance to experiment with your playstyle and all the different in-game items.
On top of that, the 'Battle in the Dead of Winter' event is now playable. This seems to let you take part in a giant snowball fight against the other pilots.
There are also a number of in-game bonuses live as part of the festive celebrations. Here's a full list:
- Christmas Surprise: Complete missions and collect Christmas gifts during the Christmas campaign to redeem new skins and other great prizes at a discount.
- Winter Day: Collect all of the new skins, including characters and mechas, to get a free gift box with either the Christmas frame or the "Elimination Effect". The skin trial card can also be used to complete the collection and start the winter party right away.
- Christmas Party: Share the game once during the campaign to receive a ticket for the limited-time prize draw! When the total number of shares reaches the magic number across the server, every player will receive a grand prize.
- SMC is also hosting a Christmas wish campaign in Twitter and Facebook communities by inviting all Pilots to make a wish. There will be lucky draws for this grand celebration.
