The popular mobile battle royale game, Garena Free Fire, is receiving a big collaboration next month.

Garena has revealed that music producer and DJ Niles Hollowell-Dhar, better known by his stage name as KSHMR, will appear in the game as an all-new playable character called K, with the nickname Captain Booyah. Alongside this appearance, he will also release a new song and music video specifically tailored to the game, playing heavily on KSHMR’s signature vocal-driven production style and replicating the same energy as you get from playing Free Fire.

“The song I wrote for this collaboration is meant to inspire people aDJ ll over the world; to keep fighting regardless of the challenges they’re facing”, said KSHMR. “Free Fire delivers this same energy and inspiration, and I’m excited to be working on this with them.”

KSHMR is one of the world’s most popular DJs. Last year he was ranked number 15 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list, and has been included on the list every year since 2015. This tie-in is part of a larger effort for Garena to engages its community using their interests from outside of video games.

“Free Fire players enjoy great music. This collaboration with KSHMR allows players even more ways to enjoy the game – through the soundtrack, character K, and many more partnership initiatives which are being lined up,” said Harold Teo, producer on Free Fire at Garena.

Garena Free Fire is a free-to-play battle royale available on the App Store and Google Play for Android. Players have to parachute down on to an island and eliminate each other using whatever weapons or items they can find. It currently has 500 million users on Android, putting it at the second most downloaded battle royale mobile game behind PUBG Mobile, making the crossover with DJ KSHMR a no-brainer of a move. All of the content will arrive sometime in October.
