Red Meat Games, a delightful name, have announced the release of their audio-led extravaganza, Project Dark. A game that can be played solely through its audio, Project Dark puts its players in the centre of a story that can be enjoyed without even opening their eyes.

It seems like every game being released lately has giant worlds and fast-paced action with all the nooks and crannies to explore, so having a game that can be played solely through sound is an incredibly interesting idea, not to mention a nice step towards inclusivity. Beyond navigation of the menus, Project Dark can be played fully just by listening.

Each of the stories unfolds as a choose-your-own-adventure game, putting you bang into the middle of the action, as it where. Every story has multiple endings and branching storylines to give you a pretty good depth of content to go through, with binaural audio to make you properly immersed in the narrative.

You can experience 6 different unique stories, including a blind first date, a medieval fantasy, a sunken treasure hunt, and even one titled Home Invasion if you don’t feel like sleeping tonight. One very important thing to note however is that you will need to buy each episode to play it, costing about $0.99 each. You can buy them all together for a discounted rate, just be aware you will need to purchase them to play, or just stare at the menus, whatever is fun for you.

As much fun as I am sure we all find the big epic adventures where you strike out across the land to accomplish goals or stuff animals into spheres, Project Dark sounds like a remarkable tool to relax with. Simply pick a story, pop in your earphones, then sink into your couch and lose yourself in the narrative, and everyone needs to chill out sometimes.

Project Dark can be downloaded now from the App Store and Google Play.
