We live in increasingly excellent times for mobile gaming, as more and more tournaments with cash prizes are popping up for players to make money off their hobby. Our latest contender comes from PUBG Mobile, with the Global Open gearing up to dish out a $500,000 prize pool.

This is the opening event in PUBG Mobile's Esports calendar for 2024, and it could shape up to be the most exciting, with scrappy underdogs getting the chance to tackle some of the biggest professional squads, possibly pulling off a spectacular upset. Registration will open on February 19th, so get your friends together and start working on that aim.

The fun begins on March 4th, with online open qualifiers lasting through to the 10th, allowing anyone who thinks they have what it takes to give it a whack. The top 32 from the Open Online Qualifier will then jet off to Brazil for the Offline Qualifier Finals, taking place between the 28th and 30th.

After this, the going gets tough, with the highest-scoring teams heading to the PMGO Prelims from April 1st to the 4th, butting heads with the invited Partnership Program teams. This heavily armed melee will spit out the eight squads who will then advance to the Main Event, facing the eight teams already qualified on the Sao Paulo stage.

The Main Event will grip the gaming world, starting April 5th to the 7th. Six daily matches will be spread out across the game's memorable maps such as Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok, forcing competitors to adapt their strategies across multiple terrains. Especially adding in the possibility for a team of amateurs to pull off the ultimate upset, this will be a good start to the PUBG competitive year.

PUBG Mobile can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
