Poncle has announced a big new update for their hit title Vampire Survivors, called Space54. This should be the headline for this article, however, this team of weird individuals has dropped a surprise gift for fans in honour of the launch of the next step in one of gaming's biggest sagas.

I don’t think anyone was expecting this masterpiece, but in honour of the launch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, a game with exactly one pseudo-vampire, Poncle has released an excellent take on the original 1997 trailer for Final Fantasy VII. The elements have been swapped for Vampire Survivors-related ones, but it maintains all the plot points from the trailer. I especially love the Sephiroth stand-in at the end. It's a bit of silly fun, and don’t we all just love that? I had to make the hard choice to embed the actual update trailer below, but I urge everyone to check out this delightful video as well.

Onto to Vampire news, the launch of the Space54 update. This free box of goodies brings with it a host of exciting additions, starting with two new characters. Bat Robbert packs some serious survivability, recovering 30% and gaining +15 MaxHP, up to 400, whenever they go under 30% health. The aptly named Space Dude has an itchy trigger finger, and will periodically fire all weapons regardless of their Cooldown, determined by the CD Stat.

Speaking of weapons, there are two of these being added too. Pako Battilliar has a chance to retaliate whenever you lose health, and the Phas3r generates thin damaging zones and has a High Amount of scaling. You can try these new loadout choices out on the Space54 stage, full of cosmic horrors. Finally, you can pick up a new Relic that enables random level-up choices, which sounds more of a detriment, but whatever floats your boat.

Vampire Survivors is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
