Back in the Nintendo 64 days, there was a puzzler called Pokemon Puzzle League, a fun romp through Kanto with a Tetris flavour. It was enjoyable, but the market is now oversaturated with IPs just cramming their own characters into puzzle games with zero meaningful mechanical changes, it's getting old. And now, thanks to the upcoming Monster Hunter Puzzles Felyne Isles, Capcom is adding another to the bloated pile.

Felyne Isles follows the tale of one of Monster Hunter's adorable catty critters, the Felynes. Through the use of the classic match-3 mechanics, you will need to, you guessed it, make matches to clear the board. Combine the right things and you will find yourself surrounded by explosions of goodness wiping all those pesky pixels away.

You will start life on a slightly destroyed island, all packed with furry friends crying out for salvation, and as we all know the best way to help someone is by doing a puzzle. Smash some puzzles and you will start earning acorns, which you can then spend to grant your local's requests, and hopefully return your home to a lovely, furnished state.

Don’t worry though, there is still monster slaying plenty for those of you with an insatiable appetite for hunting. It's just in this case, you do it through puzzles. You will do battle with the likes of the mightly Rathalos, Barroth, and their pals, defeating them through the use of your mighty brain instead of brawn.

If you have an eye for design then you covered there too. Collect some of the abundant materials from the Monster Hunter world to decorate your buildings in a host of different designs, although why you would move from the Cat Ear tents I don’t know. There is also a bevvy of Felyne clothing to deck yourself out in, including a fetching grass crown.
