If there are three things that remind us of our youth, its Lego, Star Wars, and shoot-'em-ups (yes, we are old). As it turns out, Warner Bros' new Lego Star Wars: Microfighters happens to combine all of these elements in a single destructible package.

This Lego-themed top-down vertical shooter gives you the chance to control several craft from the Star Wars universe,  including TIE Fighters and the Millennium Falcon. Piloting these ships, you must blast your way through waves of enemy craft, power-up your ship, and save the galaxy from 18 stages of vacuum-formed evil.

While the core gameplay be different from previous Lego games, some things do remain the same. Gathering studs is one of these holdovers, and will be vital in upgrading your ship if you hope to defeat the game's bosses.

You can grab Lego Star Wars: Microfighters from the App Store now for 69p / 99c.
