Chilllingo is partnering with Nitro Games to bring a new social strategy game called Gang of Pirates to the App Store later this year.

The premise for Gang of Pirates will be more than familiar to veterans of Clash of Clans and Boom Beach - though with some rum-swilling nautical debauchery added to the mix.

You must build a stronghold on an island of pirates, and developing your base lets you better train and deck out your seafaring troops. Building your defences better fortifies the settlement. That whole thing.

Once you're happy with your fortress, its time to attack your unfortunate island neighbours. Sending your fleet to battle other players switches the game to a tactical battle view, which lets you directly control your squads of swashbucklers as they rush your opponent's beaches.

Gang of Pirates will be coming to the App Store later this year, so keep your one working eye out for more news soon.
