If you've been on the hunt for an action platformer that will seriously test your skills, then you might want to check out Imperfect Hero. The game was released this year in early access and has been received positively since, making the Top Three Trending list for Google Play in March and holding a strong 4.3/5 rating across both versions of the game.
In Imperfect Hero, you'll play as Beta, a robot who is being extensively trained to fight off an alien invasion that is imminent. The problem is, Beta is quite fragile, and once struck by any enemy or obstacle, you’ll find Beta in pieces.
That's definitely an issue when you're tasked with jumping, running and using power-ups to blast through the game's 100 levels. This means you'll need to constantly be on your toes, dodging attacks and timing your jumps to perfection to avoid getting destroyed. If you fail, there is an opportunity to revive Beta, but if declined, it’s back to the beginning of the level.
The levels take place across 5 distinct looking locations. There is ice, underwater, lava, desert, and jungle stages among others, and each will have its own challenges to overcome including different enemies and obstacles. There are varying ways to approach the game as well, depending on the game mode you opt to play.
Beyond the Campaign mode, there are also Survival and Endless modes. Survival will see you desperately darting around the levels so that you can quickly collect orbs that will extend the time you'll have remaining. It'll need precise platforming and well-timed use of power-ups so that you're not wasting any precious seconds. Endless meanwhile will be an opportunity to see how far you can get through the game in one sitting.
