  • Zombies at the Olympics.
  • Easy to pick-up, hard to master gameplay with a great soundtrack.

CONS

  • Much too short, with little replay value - even with time trials.
  • Character designs are fun, but also distracting.

VERDICT

"Moldy Green" gives you a chance to buy-to-try-before-you-buy Zombie Recycling Inc. : Rotten Red, but despite the low content there's an amusing, entertaining game to enjoy.

In a world gone mad; A land where Zombies roam the countryside; One company... one man has taken up the fight to ensure that Zombies don't go extinct. This is Tecmo's Zombie Recycling Incorporated.

Moldy Green is the first of two games in the Zombie Recycling Inc. series and acts as an introduction to the game's mechanics without being too hard to complete. Your aim is to bounce your zombie's head throughout the level, avoiding dangerous traps on the way and landing it upright on to the proper body. Tapping or flicking the device will spin and align the head, but it will need to timed to finish just before landing to succeed.

Most characters are rendered with a grade-school level cartoonish style, but instead of detracting from the game it adds to the game's already quirky style. You don't get a lot for your money playing this App as it's easy to finish the entire game within about half an hour. Unlockable time-trials give you more play time, but this is really more of a aperitif designed to make you hungry for the sequel: "Rotten Red".

Moldy Green is still an amusing game to play despite the bite-sized amount of gameplay on offer. Tecmo are no stranger to arcade games, but this is a step in a new direction for the company as it attempts to appeal to a more casual audience. Zombie Recycling Inc. : Moldy Green is great fun, but hardcore gamers will want to start with "Rotten Red" instead.
