K-pop girl band Blackpink has released a new album, and it’s got a new collaboration in the popular battle royale PUBG Mobile.

The South Korean band released the highly anticipated album, aptly named ‘Blackpink: The Album’, today to millions of fans across the globe, with content appearing in PUBG Mobile to celebrate the release.

From now until Monday, 2nd November, players of PUBG Mobile can tune into the song ‘Lovesick Girls’ from Blackpink: The Album in the in-game lobby. This is not unlike an earlier collaboration where players could hear ‘How You Like That’ in the lobby music. While I can’t say I’m much of a K-pop fan, the song does have a certain ring to it that I can becoming catchy while waiting for the next game to load. You can hear it for yourself below.

There’s also special themed content coming to the battle royale, with New Erangel being decorated with billboards dedicated to the album’s release for the next week. During the collaboration, PUBG Mobile’s airdrop plane has also been painted pink with the Blackpink logo, and an exclusive airdrop featuring a themed colour and icon based on Blackpink: The Album appears in-game with an appropriately marked pink smoke signal. The lobby area and loading screens have also been similarly decorated to promote the partnership.

Blackpink first made their debut back in 2016 with ‘Square One’. In the years since, the group released several mini albums such as ‘Square Up’ and ‘Kill This Love’ that skyrocketed their popularity, and even got them a spot performing at Coachella, one of the biggest music festivals in the United States.

This collaboration with PUBG Mobile comes in succession to BTS’ music video debut in Fortnite, PUBG’s main competitor, last week.

You can check out the Blackpink collaboration by downloading PUBG Mobile from the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android.
