Indie games developer Algo Rocks, in partnership with publisher tinyBuild, has released Startup Panic for iOS and Android.

It’s a fast-paced business management simulation about the tech industry where you work your way up from bedroom programmer to global innovator of the world’s leading technology. As you can imagine from the name, it’s all about beginning your startup company and growing from humble beginnings as you look to expand and make profits. Algo Rocks assures us that with its user friendly approach to design, it will appeal to both new players of the simulation genre and veteran fans who are seeking a touch more personality.

When you’ve set the business up, you can decide which projects should be prioritised with the new hires you’ve made to bolster your team. Each employee has their own personalities and skills, making them best suited to different tasks and overall creates a diverse feeling across the whole team.

On the other hand, some of the decisions you make have to be extremely selective. Letting your staff take a holiday from time to time, or even bringing them out for a team getaway retreat can boost morale, as it ensures they’re not too overworked. However, this tips the scales away from business growth, as you may not be able respond quick enough to a growing industry trend, setting you back as far as reputation goes.

The game is also very funny. For example, there are many different threats to your business which may put it under fire, such as piracy attacks which negatively hurts your reputation. And by piracy, I mean of the sea, and not of the internet.

You can grab Startup Panic from the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android, and it’s a premium title which costs $5.99. It’s also on PC via the Epic Games Store.
