In a welcome move for anime and gaming fans, Sword Master Story has launched a collaboration with popular anime series Is it Wrong to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon, also known as DanMachi for short. The collab will continue the success of the games past anime collab with KonoSuba, another popular anime series.

DanMachi, which is a shortening of the anime Japanese title, was first released as a light novel in 2013 and has since spawned a series of spin-offs, manga series, anime series and video games. The story follows protagonist Bell Cranel, a 14-year old adventurer who joins the Hestia Familia and is aided in his adventures by the eponymous Hestia as he explores dungeons and engages in general larking about.

The collaboration will see the arrival of multiple DanMachi characters to the Sword Master Universe. Bell and Hestia appear as one unit, reflecting the fact that Hestia does not engage directly in combat. Bell will be able to unleash the damaging Fireball skill as Hestia provides some emotional support. Alongside these two characters, Ryu Lion and Ais Wallenstein also make appearances, as two high ranking fighters from the anime. On top of these combat units, Freya and Welf Crozzo will also somewhat makes an appearance as new skins for Ymir and Ares respectively.

To commemorate the collaboration, developer Super Planet will be hosting a special event and will be gifting players enough rubies to allow 40 summons, giving ample opportunity to pull these new characters. As well as the giveaway, there will be a new dungeon to explore, with a boss battle against the Minotaur, one of the iconic baddies in DanMachi lore.

Sword Master Story is available to download for free now on the App Store and Google Play. The event will run until May 25th, so there is still plenty of time to experience the fun new story.
