Wuthering Waves Version 2.1 lands with only one limited Convene
Wuthering Waves has released its latest update bringing us to Version 2.1, Waves Sing and the Cerulean Bird Calls, and this is both excellent and terrible news. Good because we can recruit new friends, enjoy more stories, and explore extra regions. What's sad is that the Roccia Convene is now gone so I can’t get her weapon anymore—a tragedy of epic proportions. Continuing my own personal woes, the Shorekeeper still has not returned to be summoned. Instead, we have one sole banner for the five-star Phoebe to pull on. She is a Specro fighter whose kit is geared to apply Spectro Frazzle to foes, a damage-over-time stacker. Beyond this, she can also do some pretty serious direct dam…
Whip everybody within a 500-yard radius with the release of the latest Prime Warframe
Fresh off the Digital Extremes’ TennoCon 2025 announcement, which sold out in a crazy time, the hype train keeps building with the release of the latest Prime Warframe. In addition to the shiny new character to rip about with, we also get the two customary new weapons, including some very Viking melee tools. Our upgraded friend this time around is Lavos the transmuter. Once a jailer to a rogue Orokin alchemist on Venus, they instead became the prisoner's pupil. On the day the alchemist should have been executed, Lavos instead transmuted them into a serpent and granted it onto their own left arm. A very cool backstory I am sure you will agree. Thanks to this alchemy fun, Lavos cuts ab…
Ragnarok comes to Ark: Survival Evolved Mobile Edition and every other map is now redundant
I am a very simple man who I realise would be very easy to trap; you say something Norse, I come running, and get caught in a box. Or, in the case of Ark: Survival Evolved Mobile Edition, get eaten by Viking Dinosaurs as the Ragnarok expansion map has arrived. P.S. Grove Street Games and Studio Wildcard, add actual Viking Dinosaurs. There is also an event currently happening, so let's address that so I can talk about that map more. Love Evolved is running until February 16th and features limited cosmetics, as well as boosted rates for harvesting, taming, experience and, rather fittingly, breeding. There are even Valentine’s candy and chocolates to collect and then offer to your…
Make your Bloons TD6 adventures endless with the Rogue Legends DLC
After heavy voting from readers back in December, our sibling site Pocket Gamer, crowned Bloons TD6 as the mobile game of the year, which is totally unacceptable because the right answer was Wuthering Waves, but I digress. As a direct result of being bestowed that honour, I assume, Ninja Kiwi has launched a new DLC for Bloon TD6, called Rogue Legends. Sadly this update does not flood the levels with a slew of deadly and sneaky miscreants, instead meaning the other type of Rogue; lite. This DLC adds over 10 tile-based campaign maps that can be randomly generated for some replayable, single-player fun. Each has multiple routes to take, with a formidable multi-round boss awaiting. Along the w…
Tickets are on sale for TennoCon 2025 including two Legendary Tickets with massive rewards
After god knows how much build-up, Warframe released the 1999 update back in December, and it was then that I foolishly thought my poor heart could rest. I was wrong, however, as there were further updates, and now, the announcements that ticket sales have opened for TennoCon 2025. The TennoCon last year marked the first time the event went across two days, and it was incredibly good fun to attend. There was a host of events to take part in, stalls to check out, and interesting panels to attend. I anticipate this year to be even better, as not only is it another two-day event, but it is also 10 years of TennCons. Each year the convention chooses a charity partner to benefit, and 2025 will…
SMT Games scores a touchdown with its Superbowl update for Super Tiny Bowl
It is almost time for the Super Bowl, and once again, the Minnesota Vikings have crushed my dreams by falling apart in crucial games. Ah, yearly traditions. In brighter news, SMT Games has announced their Super Tiny Bowl Update for Super Tiny Football, bringing super massive improvements. Starting with the big one, you can choose between Free to Play or Premium, with the former obviously having some restrictions. The obvious one being having to endure adverts. Free users can access limited offline play using the new currency, gems, which everyone will get thanks to Daily Bonuses and rewards. You can also “watch” rewarded ads for more gems if you choose. Gems can also be used to…
Metabots Survivor takes the franchise in a new direction
I don’t know if many people will remember, but back in the early 2000s, or thereabouts, there was a little anime series on our screens called Medabots. It was an incredibly fun show about battling robots, and a franchise that sadly didn’t kick off much in the West. In Japan, it is another story, and soon they will welcome the latest game entry on February 10th; Medabots Survivors. As spotted by the folks over at Gematsu, Medabots Survivors, or Medarot as it is known over there, will be what you expect of the name really. You will take control of fan-favourite and new Medabots and will face hoards of enemies as you try to survive. There will be a choice of over 30 character…
The Summoner’s Choice Champion result is in for Marvel Contest of Champions’ regular vote
February is a big month for Kabam and Marvel Contest of Champions, not least because the results of the Summoner’s Choice Champion have been announced. You can also take part in some Valentine’s Day events, and unlock two new characters, although it seems that Kabam are really pushing one over the other. This year's Summoner’s Choice Champion had a few interesting candidates, with the likes of Elektra's tenure as Daredevil and samurai legacy Colleen Wing in the running. Echo and her ability to mimic anything she sees, including her opponents, would have been amazing. Rather disappointingly though, the winner is literally just Moon Knight in a suit, known as Mr Knight, so t…
Embrace the wrong side of the law as Albion Online releases the Rogue Frontier update
There is that old adage that “crime never pays”, and clearly Albion Online has never heard that because the latest update is all about that sweet, sweet outlaw life. Rogue Frontier is expanding the Outlands and adding a host of ways to enjoy some light-hearted larceny. You can work with the new Smugglers Faction and undertake missions such as recovering Smuggler Crates and battering the Royal Guard to free captured Smugglers. Failing that, you can simply collect Smuggler’s Coins hidden away in Caches and Coffers to simply buy your way to higher ranks. And if you thought the word Smuggler has already been used too much already, boy you are in for a shock. Increasing…
Digital Extremes does it again with a devstream showing enough content to make us all impatient for March
It has been a long time coming since the Techrot started to infest our favourite virtual boyband, but it is finally time to face On-lyne in Warframe. The latest Digital Extremes Devsteeam unveiled details of 1999's follow-up update, Techrot Encore, launching in March. Excitingly, we are going to get four new Protoframes, and I sincerely hope one is Ash, but we won’t know until Devstream 185. We do know we can finally knock the Technocyte Coda around to earn Infested weapons. For even more musically inspired content, the 60th Warframe Temple was teased as the Guitar Warframe. Outside of combat, the Romance and Relationship System is being tuned up, and there is a 90s-inspired cosmetic…
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light brings tomb-raiding fun to mobiles in February
I feel like a lot of my generation's first exposure to 3D action adventure was Tomb Raider on the PS1. Lara Croft is one of gaming's most iconic characters for this and many reasons. Soon, players can re-experience one of her side adventures, as Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light readies itself for mobile launch. Guardian of Light was quite the departure from the usual outings of one of our favourite explorers. At least in the case of gameplay, she is always accidentally plundering something mystical. Croft’s instinct to always go after the thing that could potentially wipe out large swathes of the earth is almost impressive. But I digress. The gameplay takes the form of an almost…
Marvel Snap developer's Second Dinner announces a parting of ways with publishers Nuverse
This month I gained a phenomenal level of respect for Second Dinner, developer of Marvel Snap. Due to publisher Nuverse being affected by that ban in the US, Snap was taken offline for a bit. Now, to ensure that doesn’t happen again, Second Dinner has announced they are splitting with Nuverse and publishing with Skystone Games instead. We are going to keep the politics out of it as we recap, but as I have often theorised; TikTok is the root of all evil and suffering in the modern world. Earlier this month the US banned TikTok, following threats against ByteDance, the fellows behind the social media app. Unfortunately, this ban hit everything else owned by ByteDance, which included Nuv…
Streaming service Utomik is shuttering after nearly three years of service
It is a sad time in the world of online gaming as cloud gaming subscription service Utomik has announced that they are closing their doors. This puts an end to the company that only formed back in 2022, but already offered a huge library to choose from as and when you liked. There wasn’t a concrete reason given for this in the official announcement, but then when is there really? The company simply say they “fought long and hard” but it “was not enough”. It is quite a shame. Whilst they may not have stocked a big selection of Triple-As, their indie offerings were quite substantial. Unfortunately, the demise of Utomike can probably be blamed on the likes of Mic…
Rust Mobile reveals an Alpha Test for February with incredibly restrictive requirements
Good news for those who want to practise living in a world where everything wants you dead and you have to scavenge for every little thing; Rust is coming to mobile. If you would like to help shape development then you could try to get involved in the 7-Day Alpha Test hosted this February. Try being the operative word. The rules for this Alpha are about as harsh as the gameplay can be. To start with, it is only available on Android, and you need at least a Snapdragon 8 gen 1 Processor, 6GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. And then, if that wasn’t exclusive enough, it is only open in Canada. Pretty small sample size. Moving on from the big ones, there are also a few more. To start you…
Wield your squeegee for the wrong side of the law as Serial Cleaner mobile pre-orders open
I have been playing a lot of Hitman 3 lately, and whilst I do tend to go for the quiet route, things can get out of hand. Screwdrivers are thrown, someone might inexplicably explode, and it's all a right ruddy mess. You never think about the aftermath of these bloodbaths, but with the mobile release of Serial Cleaner on the horizon, you might change your tune. Serial Cleaner places you in the shoes of Bob C. Leaner, and with a name like that, what else are you going to grow up to be? Besides a rather slanted tower in Pisa. Anyway, faulty foundations aside, you are a man contracted by the mob to clean up the evidence of their hits and other nefarious activities. The big problem, however, is…
