Mice Heist Review

Review Trickshot Games By Andrew Nesvadba, 13 years, 12 months ago
Mice Heist Review

Roll with me on this one... For some reason you've decided that it'd be a top idea to drop your cheese in to a giant pile in front of a series of conspicuous mice-holes, only to find out that they're a nest of anthropomorphic critters out to steal your cheese. Well in Mice Heist it's just another day as usual, but at least you get to tap them to send them on their way, with the occasional disco-dancing cat also dropping by to scare them off. Once you've chosen a difficulty level, the…

Tunnel Shoot Pro Review

Review Backflip Studios By Andrew Nesvadba, 13 years, 12 months ago
Tunnel Shoot Pro Review

Tunnel Shoot by Backflip Studios - of Ragdoll Blaster and Paper Toss fame - is their latest App to be pushed out in to the big bad world. As you'd expect a lot of shooting inside a tunnel is what you get, but players will also be subjected to high-speeds and plenty of obstacles to avoid while making a run for their high score. Controlling your ship is as easy as tilting to move around the tunnel, while tapping and holding fires your weapons and double-touching launches your bombs. Eac…

Farmville Is Out!

News By Andrew Nesvadba, 13 years, 12 months ago
Farmville Is Out!

Zynga, the company responsible for the loss of productivity in offices around the world (ok, that's unproven, but you can't tell me that you haven't sneaked a play of one of their games at work at one time or another) have released FarmVille for the AppStore. That's right, now you can manage your farm on the go with a lightning fast interface that'll keep you synched up no matter where you are. Oh, there's just one teensy problem right now... We're experiencing a few difficulties in staying connected to the servers (it IS release day, so it's to be at least somewhat expected), however we'll keep on trying until we can get a full review ASAP. For now, fans of the game are unlikely to nee…

FastBall 2 is the sequel to Klik! Games first App Store title, FastBall and features a handful of great improvements that make this a title worth grabbing if you're a fan of titles like The Impossible Game. New features such as super-jump tiles and speed-up…

Red Star Review

Review XS Games By Andrew Nesvadba, 13 years, 12 months ago
Red Star Review

The Red Star, for those who follow comics, is a series set in an alternate-universe post-World War II Russia that mixes technology and magic together. A game for the PS2 was developed and released in 2007 and after XS Games' recent adaption of the title to the PSP, iPhone users are now also able to experience this intricate beat'em up on the go. A few concessions had to be made to ensure that Red Star was playable in the same way for the iPhone and the first thing most players will no…

BATTLE BEARS -1 Review

Review SkyVu Inc. By Andrew Nesvadba, 13 years, 12 months ago
BATTLE BEARS -1 Review

With a healthy dose of comedy and more than a dash of familiar sci-fi inspiration, Battle Bears -1 (that's a prequel for those keeping track) has jumped from its basic shooter roots and developers SkyVu Pictures have opted to try their hands at a third person shooter. Each level is broken up in to smaller chambers filled with obstacles (including the occasional turret) for your Battle Bear, Oliver, to overcome. This Smash TV inspired design is punctuated by wave after wave of cute ado…

Sushi Go Round Review

Review SouthPeak By Andrew Nesvadba, 13 years, 12 months ago
Sushi Go Round Review

Sushi Go Round by SouthPeak is an adaption of the popular Miniclip flash title of the same name for the iPhone. This version is not unlike the previously redesigned adaption for the Nintendo DS and features much of the same art and layout, while retaining its extremely fast-paced management gameplay style. The iPhone version feels like the best suited platform for this title as the tap controls are extremely easy to use and feel far more intuitive than moving to click or dragging item…

Jumbo Snake™ Review

Snake. If you own a mobile phone it's a fair bet you've played Snake. It's almost synonymous with the devices after being packed with Nokia phones and most other devices in various iterations. Jumbo Snake by Boost Mobile offers gamers their take on the simple object-eating-and-growing reptile gameplay by elegantly presenting a very vanilla version. There are no d-pads, virtual sticks or buttons to worry about, just simple swipes. Flicking your finger will determine the direction you h…

Promini Review

What you see is almost exactly what you get when you look at Promini by Eltima Software. In gameplay and style this is yet another take on the Lumines gameplay, however its few added twists might just enough to soften even jaded gamers in to giving this title a try. There are no virtual sticks or buttons in sight for Promini, which means you'll be relying on the good old swipe and tap combinations to quickly navigate your puzzle piece in to place. Matched blocks of 2x2 or greater will…

EXO-Planet Elite Review

EXO-Planet Elite Review

SGN are no stranger to creating multiplayer games for the iPhone and it's great to see them try their hands at a shooter-based game in EXO-Planet Elite. Players can take part in capture-the-flag and death-match games that take place in zero-g combat arenas where players can freely jump in to the emptiness of space or grapple their way between platforms. EXO uses standard customizable FPS controls for their third-person shooter, with two thirds of the screen being dedicated for moving…

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within Review

Review Gameloft By Andrew Nesvadba, 14 years ago
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within Review

After an earlier recalled release, Gameloft have finally released 'Prince of Persia: Warrior Within' for App Store denizens to lap up, but 'buyer beware' because fitting this title on to the iPhone has required some harsh cut-backs. A good third, if not more of the screen is immediately dedicated to the controls and interface, with more being eaten up if you attempt to control the camera at the same time. However, despite some initial concerns the customizable interface works well and…
